The systems of household and surface wastewater collection have been reconstructed, and a wastewater outlet system from the spilled oil collection tank has been newly constructed in this hydro power plant.
An integrated assessment is carried out for the filtration of soil and the concrete dike, and the status of underwater hydro technical structures is monitored.
In spring, when the ice melts in the Kaunas Lagoon, alongside the dam in the fore bay the organic and inorganic outwash accumulates, which is collected to prevent penetration of outwash into the Nemunas River and the equipment of the power plant.
The company has started the implementation of the Kaunas HPP rehabilitation and modernisation project in which priority is being given to environmental protection. Design and construction of a waste collection system is projected.
