Lietuvos Energija AB has been operating in the field of information technologies and telecommunications since 1965. In 2001, the Department of Information Technologies and the Communications & Teleinformation Service were merged together, and the Information Technologies & Telecommunications Centre (ITTC) was established.
One of the core activities of the ITT Centre – the development, maintenance and support of application systems designed for the power system. The main advantage of the centre in this field is a thorough knowledge of the power system’s structure and other business particularities. The application systems assigned to the main processes in the energy sector, financial accounting and management reporting have been implemented in Lietuvos Energija as well as in the distribution and power production companies.
An upgraded modern telecommunications infrastructure enables satisfaction of the needs of the company – the main ITTC customer demanding the provision of highly reliable services – as well as the rendering of IT and telecommunications services to other customers, both in Lithuania and abroad. The main customers of the ITTC are energy companies, telecommunications operators, providers of telecommunications and internet services, cable TV companies, state institutions, the academic society and finance companies.
The main services provided by the ITTC to its external customers are:
The ITTC mission is to supply reliable services adjusted to the specific requirements of every customer in order to match the reliability and stability of operation of the part of the ITTC serviced power system with solutions of modern technologies through optimal use of Lietuvos Energija telecommunications infrastructure and the competent and flexible team of ITTC employees.
To attain the aforesaid goals, a quality control system of IT and telecommunication services has been implemented by using ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) methodology. For stocktaking of the existing network, the information system of the telecommunication network LE-TIS has also been implemented.
