The company won an open tender organised by the Academic and Research Network in Lithuania (LitNet) for rendering data transmission services. Lietuvos energija AB became the main provider of these services to the academic community.
23.10.2003 - BON SERVICES EXPANDED TO EUROPE
At the last 4cE appointment in Prague on 14-15 October the BON received unanimous approval to become a plenipotentiary member of the telecommunication alliance. The membership opens highly anticipated access to the European markets and substantially expands the possibilities of offering transit services throughout Baltic region.
4ce is an alliance created in the beginning of the year 2000 covering Northern, Eastern and Central Europe.
Poland's TEL-ENERGO, Germany's VEAGCOM, and the Czech telecommunications company ČEZTel (now ČEZnet) have teamed up with Danish network operators SEAS Energi Service, Copenhagen Energy, and Banestyrelsen to offer one-stop-shopping services throughout the region. In 2002, Austria's Well.com and EVN, and in 2003 BON, joined the 4cE alliance.
